On Wednesday, August 12th from 5:15-6:15 PM we are going to be offering Communion (weather permitting) in our parking lot. We understand that some still don't feel comfortable coming for in-person worship but would like to receive the sacrament of the Lord's Supper. Pastor will be masked and gloved, and the proper care will be taken in preparing the element for the communion. The plan is to do this once a month during the pandemic.

  1. Communion will take place in the Maryvale Lot.

  2. Enter through the entrance on Unionvale Rd.

  3. Remain in your cars and Pastor Phil will come to each individual car, offer prayers of confession, the Words of Institution, distribute the Lord's Supper to everyone who would like to take it in the car, and then share with them the blessing.

A reminder of our practice for the Lord's Supper

As a believer in celebrating the Lord’s Supper, you are affirming with each communicant that:

  1. Jesus is your Savior and Lord.

  2. You believe His body and blood are truly present in, with, and under the bread and wine/juice for the forgiveness of sins and spiritual strength.

  3.  It is your desire to serve Him as a disciple in the fellowship of the Christian Church.

  4. It is our practice at St. Luke to instruct our youth prior to the reception of the Lord’s Supper. That instruction begins in 6th grade, and the youth are confirmed in the faith at the end of 7th grade. To avoid confusion, we ask that guests and visitors with younger children respect this practice.

  5. We serve red wine and bread at communion. White grape juice and gluten-free wafers are available.

To have an idea of how  much communion we need to prepare if you are planning on attending would you please contact the church office at 633-6758.
