(6th Grade on up)
SAINT LUKE YOUTH (S.L.Y.)
This is a special opportunity to develop new friendships, build positive relationships, search out the meaning of our faith, and grow closer to Christ. We meet on the 3rd Tuesday of each month from 6 to 7:30 pm. We have a meal and snacks, sometimes service projects. If you would like to join S.L.Y. or offer your assistance as an adult, please contact our church office at 633-6752 or send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
CONFIRMATION CLASSES (GRADES 6th and 7th grade)
St. Luke's Confirmation Program instructs students in the central tenets of the Christian faith, using the Bible and the "Small Catechism" of Martin Luther. It provides a variety of teaching/learning styles and settings, while taking into consideration family schedules and the pace of individual students and placing responsibility for completing the program onto the parents and students. Our organizing principle is to provide the best confirmation program possible through continual evaluation and assessment. Most often the program is completed in two years.
6th graders will meet on the second and forth Sundays of the month beginning in September. The class will be upstairs in the youth room and take place between the two Sunday services (10:10 am -10:50 am). This class will be a study of the Bible, with the main focus being Christ is weaved through all of scripture. The Old and New Testaments will be covered. This class will be taught by Pastor Phil other leaders here at St. Luke.
7th graders will meet once a month on Sunday evening beginning in September. The class will be upstairs in the youth room and take place from 6:00-8:00 pm. Here we will be studying the Catechism and our Lutheran beliefs and practices concerning the Ten Commandments, the Apostles' Creed, the Lord's Prayer, the Sacraments of Baptism and the Lords Supper, and the Office of the Keys. This class will be taught by Pastor Phil.
