YOUTH MINISTRIES
SAINT LUKE YOUTH (S.L.Y.)
This is a special opportunity to develop new friendships, build positive relationships, search out the meaning of our faith, and grow closer to Christ. Having fun is a key part of it all! If you would like to join S.L.Y. or offer your assistance as an adult, please contact our church office at (633-6752)
SUNDAY SCHOOL
The purpose of our Sunday School is for God's children to learn more about the Bible and how to apply God's Word to their lives. Sunday School is held from 9:45 - 10:45 a.m. from September - May. We meet to learn from God's Holy Word the meaning and purpose of the Christian faith, using crafts, music, and creative teaching techniques. During the summer months (June, July, and August), Sunday School is not in session, allowing the 10:00 a.m. service to be a Family Worship opportunity. Any questions contact Jacquie Albert or the church office.
VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL
Mark you calendars, Vacation Bible School is around the corner! Our theme this year is Hometown Nazareth: Where Jesus was a Kid. We have set up a website with general information about VBS, along with a page to register your child and to volunteer ( you can even specify where you want to help). Check it out! Register Online
CONFIRMATION CLASSES (GRADES 7 & 8)
Saint Luke's Confirmation Program instructs student in the central tenets of the Christian faith, using the Bible and the "Small Catechism" of Martin Luther. It provides a variety of teaching/learning styles and settings taking into consideration family schedules and the pace of individual students, while placing responsibility for completing the program onto the parents and students. Our organizing principle is to provide the best confirmation program possible through continual evaluation and assessment. Most often the program is completed in two years.
ADULT MINISTRIES

"FROM THE HEART"
DVD Ministry
Through this ministry, DVD recordings of the worship services are delivered to homebound members of the church and are available to anyone upon request. Copies of DVD's are retained in a tape library. Contact Wally Grzyb (639-1904) for more information.
Son Shine Committee
For people unable to attend church due to an infirmity, this newly formed Committee brings the caring love of Christ through visitation. Communion is delivered by our Elders to shut-in members each month. Contact Gene Benson (634-0900) for more information.
Parish Nurses
Our group of Parish Nurses provide our members and friends with Health Care advice and encouragement and remind us of the importance of taking care of our bodies as a precious gift from God. Currently our nurses take blood pressure checks every first Sunday of the month. Our Parish Nurses are Karen Eckam, Sue Bethin, Judy Donahue, Sandy Braun, Marg Albert, and Karen Machnica.
Food Pantry
Throughout the Bible, we are told by God to help, encourage, and support one another spiritually and physically. Supported by the congregation, the Food Pantry helps families in our own area with the physical support of groceries. The Pantry is opened every Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.. Recipients include families in need due to illness, job loss, divorce, or other situations. Non-perishable items are gathered every Sunday during the month in the Fellowship Area. For more information, call the church office (633-6752) or Rita and Ed Loeffler.
Prayer Chain
It is a Christian privilege to lift up the cares and celebrations of each other in prayer. If you have a special prayer request or if you would like to be included on our Prayer Chain, please contact BettyAnn Schmitt at (686-0642)
Altar Care
Contributes to the worship in the church by keeping the chancel and its furnishings clean, placing candles, and taking care of the sacred vessels, linens, and vestments. For more information, contact Allan Riemer (633-8548)
Nursery
We provide a safe, happy environment for healthy, active toddlers and infants who find it difficult to sit quiet through an entire worship service. This gives moms and dads the chance to grow in worship without stress. The Child Care Room, new as of summer of 2006. is located on the same level as the church proper. It is equipped with a large window looking into our Sanctuary and speakers so one can listen to the worship service while in this quiet proof space. You pass it on your way to worship! There you will also find picture book for children to color, puzzles, and other age-appropriate toys. A changing table is also there for your use. All those under age 3 are welcome with open arms and lots of hugs. Adult volunteers are always welcome as well.
Ushers
Interested in serving while you worship? Does distributing worship bulletins, assisting people, and collecting the offering seem like something you can do to reflect your gratitude to God? If so, contact Manfred Rieger (634-4669) for more information.
